IPEC Marks Engineers’ Day with Innovation Showcase

Students Shine in Working Model and Poster Presentation Competitions





Sahibabad: Indraprastha Engineering College (IPEC) celebrated Engineers’ Day with grandeur, hosting a special program jointly organized by Engineer Club NCR and the IPEC TBI Foundation. The event paid tribute to Bharat Ratna awardee and the “Father of Indian Engineering,” Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya.

The inauguration was marked by a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony by Rajesh Kumar Jain, Chief General Manager, SJVN Ltd. (Ministry of Power); Engineer Club NCR President Amrish Garg; Treasurer Satyam Agarwal; Secretary Basant Goyal; IPEC Dean Academics Prof. Dr. Amit Jain; TBI Foundation CEO Priyanka Gupta; and Program Convenor & Dean Student Welfare/IQAC Prof. Dr. Meenakshi Sharma.

Distinguished Voices Inspire Students

Prominent engineers including Yogesh Kumar Jain (Mechanical Engineer, DJ Polytechnic Baghpat), H.K. Jain (Gandhi Polytechnic, Muzaffarnagar), Ashwini Nagpal (Director Operations, Biltech Electricals), and Engineer Club Treasurer Satyam Agarwal addressed the students. All dignitaries were felicitated with mementoes by the institution.

Speaking on the occasion, Satyam Agarwal emphasized that Engineer Club connects senior officials and retired engineers from various government organizations to contribute to social development. “We will continue to collaborate with IPEC to nurture future-ready engineers. Several upcoming programs will bring government engineers and industry experts together to mentor students,” he added.

Working Model Competition: Schools Display Ingenuity

Students from several Ghaziabad schools participated in the working model competition.

  • First Prize: Ishaan and Hardik of Seth Anandram Jaipuria School for their innovative Robotic Arm project.

  • Second Prize: Harsh of Swami Vivekanand Saraswati Vidya Mandir for an AI-based Intelligent Sweeping Machine inspired by the Swachh Bharat mission.

  • Third Prize: Parth and Yashi of Vidya Bal Bhavan Senior Secondary School for creating Blind Spectacles to aid the visually impaired.

The winners received ₹3,000, ₹2,000, and ₹1,000 cash prizes respectively, along with certificates. All participants were also awarded certificates of appreciation by IPEC.

Poster Presentation Competition: College Students Excel

Students from IPEC’s B.Tech (Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science), MCA, BCA, B.Sc, and MBA programs showcased their ideas in the poster presentation contest.

  • First Prize: Ranjan Kumar, Muskan Rai, and Punit Kumar Gautam for their project on Food Distribution and Segregation (₹3,000).

  • Second Prize: Ankush Kumar and Bamashi for Sustainable Solutions for Waste Management (₹2,000).

  • Third Prize: Anand Kaushik, Ansh Singh Rathore, and Akash Patel for their poster on Sustainable Energy (₹1,000).

All participants were awarded certificates by Engineer Club NCR.

The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries and faculty members including Prof. Dr. Sunita Yadav (Dean CSE & Allied Branch), Prof. Y.S. Yadav (Dean First Year), Dr. Neeta Verma, Dr. Ragini, Saurabh Saxena, Shefali, Shalini, Garima, Dr. Swati, Alpana Tomar, Tanya Sharma, Dr. Shweta, Shobhana Sharma, and Sapna Sharma.
