Hindi Diwas celebrated with grand Kavi Sammelan and Literary Felicitation at Venkateshwara University and VGI Meerut

Meerut: On the occasion of Hindi Diwas, Venkateshwara University and VGI Meerut jointly hosted a grand “Kavi Sammelan and Sahitya Samman Samaroh–2025” at the Ravindra Nath Tagore Auditorium. The event witnessed the presence of eminent poets and literary figures from across the country, who enthralled the audience with their powerful recitals while stressing the need to adopt Hindi as the language of work, culture, and commerce.

A dozen distinguished poets and Hindi activists were felicitated with shawls, angavastrams, and mementos. Among those honoured were Vivek Prakash, Pan-India Head of Jubilant Foundation and noted Hindi promoter; international poetess and acclaimed author Dr. Madhu Chaturvedi; senior litterateur and Rajbhasha Samman awardee Dr. Yatindra Kataria; renowned poet Dr. Gopal Narson; senior educationist Dr. Bhupesh Gupta; and Dr. Anjana Vyas, among others.

The ceremony began with a traditional lamp-lighting before the idol of Goddess Saraswati by Sudhir Giri, Founder Chairman of Venkateshwara Group; Dr. Rajiv Tyagi, Pro-Chancellor; Prof. Krishnakant Dave, Vice-Chancellor; chief guest Vivek Prakash; Dr. Madhu Chaturvedi, and other dignitaries.

Speaking on the occasion, Sudhir Giri underlined the importance of working in one’s mother tongue, citing the examples of China and Japan. “These nations have reached the pinnacle of success by conducting business and administration in their native languages. India too must honor its mother tongue and strengthen the tradition of working in Hindi,” he said.

The Kavi Sammelan proved to be the highlight of the evening. Dr. Madhu Chaturvedi moved the audience with her evocative lines:
“All my life I endured the dark ordeals,
Yet offered light, despite the trials.”

Dr. Yatindra Kataria’s spirited verse on Hindi received loud applause:
“Across the seven seas resounds Hindi’s cheer,
On the world stage, India’s presence is clear.”

Pro-Chancellor Dr. Rajiv Tyagi captivated listeners with his romantic couplet, while senior poet Dr. Gopal Narson drew admiration with his poignant lines:
“I went to complain, but it turned into prayer,
I tried forgetting you, but you became my habit.”

The event also featured reflections on Hindi’s global relevance and cultural depth by eminent scholars including Dr. Anjana Vyas, Dr. Bhupesh Gupta, and Piyush Pandey.

A large gathering of academicians, research scholars, and students attended the ceremony. Notable attendees included Dr. Rajesh Singh, Dr. Neetu Panwar, Dr. Suman Kumari, Dr. Anjali Bhardwaj, Dr. Aarti Gupta, Dr. Smita, Dr. Vikas Kumar, Dr. Shriram Gupta, Dr. Darpan Kaushik, Dr. Ashutosh Gautam, Dr. S.N. Sahu, Dr. Rajvardhan, Dr. Om Prakash, Dr. S.K. Srivastava, Dr. Ashwin Saxena, Dr. Mohit Sharma, Dr. Jyoti Singh, Dr. Yogeshwar Sharma, Dr. Anil Jaiswal, Deeksha, Prashant, Maroof Chaudhary, Arun Goswami, S.S. Baghel, and Dr. Pratap Singh.
