Uttar Pradesh Senior Boys’ Choukball Team Leaves for National Championship in Goa

Players from multiple districts selected; week-long training camp held ahead of tournament

Ghaziabad: Uttar Pradesh Choukball Association has announced the Senior Boys’ team for the 16th Senior National Choukball Championship scheduled to be held from May 29 to 31, 2026, at the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium. The team will depart for Goa by train on May 27.

According to the association, talented players from different districts across Uttar Pradesh have been selected for the national event. The squad includes three players from Ghaziabad, two each from Noida and Meerut, and one player each from Lucknow, Banda, Varanasi, Hapur and Bulandshahr.

Abhay Chaudhary has been appointed captain of the team, while Akash Yadav from Noida will serve as the coach.

To strengthen preparations for the championship, a seven-day training camp was organised at Learning Twist School, where players underwent intensive practice sessions under expert supervision.

Ahead of the tournament, a kit distribution ceremony was held on May 26 in the presence of Ashok Nagar, Naresh Chaudhary, Mohit Chaudhary and Pradeep Kumar.

Meanwhile, Dr. Vijit Chaudhary and Prayas Tyagi will officiate as referees during the national championship.

The Uttar Pradesh Choukball Association expressed confidence in the team and extended its best wishes to all players for a successful performance at the national event.
