Meerut: The Meerut Institute of Technology (MIT), located on Partapur Bypass, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great patriotism and enthusiasm. The event commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag and the singing of the National Anthem, led jointly by Chairman Mr. Vishnu Sharan, Director Dr. K.L.A. Khan, and Principal Dr. Himanshu Sharma.
Following the flag hoisting, students presented a series of patriotic cultural performances, including songs, poems, folk dances, and theatrical acts. The highlight of the event was a play titled “Operation Sindoor”, which powerfully depicted the courage, sacrifice, and invaluable contribution of the Indian Army in defending the motherland. The impactful performance received a standing ovation from the audience.
In his address, Chairman Mr. Vishnu Sharan emphasized that Independence Day is not merely a celebration but also a reminder of our duties and responsibilities. He urged students to contribute towards the nation’s progress with unity, knowledge, discipline, and dedication.
Director Dr. K.L.A. Khan paid homage to the martyrs, stating that preserving the country’s integrity and freedom is the duty of every citizen. He also stressed the importance of unity, brotherhood, and social harmony.
The ceremony concluded with resounding chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram.” The event was attended by Pharmacy Principal Dr. Neerajkant Sharma, Dean Academics Dr. Gaurav Sharma, Media Head Ajay Chaudhary, Ritima,
Sakshi Ahluwalia, Sonal Ahlawat, Rupal, and several other dignitaries.
