Campus Echoes with Energy as Students Shine Across Multiple Events
Meerut: The two-day annual sports meet ‘Spardha’ at MIET Public School, Jagriti Vihar, concluded on Sunday with tremendous enthusiasm and spirited participation. Students from Classes 1 to 12 showcased their athletic skills across various competitions, while parents also actively participated, adding to the lively atmosphere.
The event commenced with the lighting of the sports torch by Chief Guest and environmentalist Madhu Vats, Child Welfare Committee member Poonam Sharma, School Chairman Vishnu Sharan, and Principal Dr. Silky Verma.
In her address, Principal Dr. Silky Verma emphasized the importance of curiosity and discipline for progress in life. A vibrant cultural dance performance by Class 8 students captivated everyone, while the grand march-past by different houses emerged as one of the major highlights of the event.
The sports arena witnessed an array of exciting competitions including taekwondo, sprint races, lemon race, backward race, rabbit race, balloon game, hurdle race, and three-leg race.
In the results announcement, Azad House won the Best March-Past award. Aditi Dobal and Siona Singh were declared Best Athletes of the Meet, while Lavish Kumar bagged the Best Boy Athlete title. Patel House was awarded Best House.
In the Under–12 Boys category, Devansh Gupta, Parv Sharma, Om Gupta, and Anshuman Verma secured top positions, whereas in the Under–12 Girls category, Yuvika, Sonia Singh, Anya Tomar, and Harshita Goyal emerged winners.
Under–15 Boys titles were claimed by Kartik Adhana, UV, Vaibhav Singh, and Dhruv Bhati, while Under–15 Girls winners included Yashika, Aditri Dobal, Simran Singh, and Vani Goyal. In the Under–18 category, Vansh Sharma and Nitya Kumari delivered outstanding performances to secure first positions.
Students from Classes 1 to 5 also demonstrated impressive talent in multiple running events. In the parents’ category, Rinku Kumar and Deepika Singh emerged victorious.
Chairman Vishnu Sharan highlighted the importance of sports in fostering a healthy mind within a healthy body. Chief Guest Poonam Sharma remarked that sports help inculcate values of social bonding, cooperation, and compassion among children.
The event concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem.
