MIET Biosciences Department Hosts Grand Freshers’ Party, Mr and Miss Fresher Contest Steals the Show

Vibrant Welcome for New Biotech Students at MIET, Cultural Performances and Titles Add Spark


Meerut: The Department of Biosciences and Biotechnology at MIET organised a grand Freshers’ Party to welcome newly admitted students of BSc Biotechnology and MSc Biotechnology and Microbiology. The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Campus Director Dr Sanjay Kumar Singh, Dean Academics Dr Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Head of Department Dr Avinash Singh and Media Head Ajay Chaudhary.

Senior students accorded a warm and traditional welcome to the freshers. The event featured a vibrant mix of recreational games, dance performances, singing, poetry, skits and other cultural activities, which kept the audience thoroughly engaged.

The highlight of the celebration was the Mr and Miss Fresher competition, where participants showcased their confidence, personality and talent through a ramp walk, talent round and question–answer session. As per the jury’s verdict, Rithik Sharma and Arpita Gupta from BSc Biotechnology were crowned Mr Fresher and Miss Fresher respectively. From BSc Microbiology, Abhinav Chaudhary was adjudged Mr Fresher, while Anushka won the Miss Fresher title. In the MSc Biotechnology category, Dishant Adhana and Annu Kaushik bagged the Mr and Miss Fresher titles, whereas Atul Sharma and Tannu were declared Mr and Miss Fresher from MSc Microbiology.

Special titles were also awarded, with Krish (BSc Biotechnology) named Mr Perfect, Tanya Sirohi (MSc Biotechnology) Miss Perfect, Sanjana (BSc Microbiology) Miss Talented and Swati Pandey honoured as the Event Star.

The programme not only made the welcome of new students memorable but also reflected the department’s inclusive, cordial and energetic academic environment. Faculty members present on the occasion included Dr Avinash Singh, Dr Ashima Kathuria, Dr Divya Chaudhary, Dr Sonia Sharma, Dr Shipra Chaudhary, Dr Subir Kumar Bose, Dr Anjali Rathi, Dr Robin Pundir, Dr Aashna Siddiqui, Dr Rinni Sehrawat, Dr Rekha Yadav, Dr Neha Verma and Dr Shivani Tiwari.
