‘Spardha’ Sports Meet Concludes with Enthusiasm at MIET Public School, Students Showcase Remarkable Talent

Mansi and Devaraj Named Best Athletes; Patel House Emerges Overall Champion


Meerut: The two-day Annual Sports Meet ‘Spardha’ concluded on Wednesday at MIET Public School, Mawana Road, with great zeal and vibrant participation from students. The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Colonel Abhishek Pawar, Commanding Officer of 72 UP Battalion NCC Meerut, along with School Chairman Vishnu Sharan, Vice Chairman Gaurav Agarwal, Manager Barkha Agarwal, Principal Rupali Sehgal, and Ajay Chaudhary, who jointly lit the ceremonial torch.


Students from Classes 1 to 12 took part in various events with immense enthusiasm. The sports ground witnessed impressive displays including March Past, Oath-Taking Ceremony, Aerobics, Taekwondo, Pyramid Formation, Yoga Presentation, Gymnastics, and PT Drill, captivating the audience.

A wide range of competitions were organised, including Lemon Race, Ready-for-School Race, Hula-Hoop Race, Butterfly Race, Short Hurdle Race, Banana Race, Cone Balance Race, Chocolate Race, Subway Surfer Race, Three-Leg Race, Lemon-Spoon Race, 100m Race, and 400m Relay. For senior students, field events such as Shot Put, Javelin Throw, and Discus Throw were also conducted.

In the results, Mansi Tomar (Class 9) was declared Best Female Athlete, while Devaraj Pundir (Class 11) bagged the Best Male Athlete title. Patel House topped the overall rankings with 394 points, followed by Bose House (390 points), Bhagat House (270 points), and Azad House (256 points). Azad House received the Best March Past Award. NCC cadets of the school participated in the March Past for the first time alongside 72 UP Battalion, drawing special appreciation.

In the 200m Girls’ Race (Class 9), Arya Vashistha secured first place with a timing of 72 seconds, followed by Nishtha (33 seconds) and Zara (34.5 seconds). In the 100m Boys’ Race (Class 8), Amish Malik clinched the top position with 14 seconds, while Arpit (14.15 sec) and Dash (14.30 sec) came second and third respectively.

In the Three-Leg Girls’ Race (Class 8), Akash–Purnima secured first place, Kanak–Anshika came second, and Salvi–Agamya finished third. In Shot Put (Class 9), Aditya topped with a throw of 6.6m, followed by Harshit (6.1m) and Shivank (6m).

In Javelin Throw (Class 11), Deveraj grabbed first place with 27m, Abhinav secured second with 19m, and Anshuman stood third with 16.35m.
In Discus Throw (Class 9), Dev Chaudhary emerged first with 20.1m, Abhinav stood second with 19.75m, and Nishant finished third with 16.75m.

In the 400m Relay Race (Class 9), the team of Uday, Vidhan, Kushal, and Shaurya secured first place, followed by Aryan, Devansh, Amish, and Krishna in second and Abhinav, Parth, Arjun, and Mudit in third.

All winners were honoured with certificates, medals, and trophies.

Chairman Vishnu Sharan highlighted that a healthy mind flourishes in a healthy body, underlining the importance of sports in students’ lives. Chief Guest Colonel Abhishek Pawar emphasized that sports nurture social bonding, cooperation, and a sense of selflessness among children. The event concluded with the National Anthem.

The sports meet was successfully coordinated under the leadership of Physical Education Head Vijit Chaudhary, with support from Sumit Kumar, Akash, Vishal, Kiran, Rekha, and other staff members. The event was anchored by Sonika.
