Sahibabad: Indraprastha Engineering College celebrated National Youth Day with enthusiasm, inspiration and a strong focus on social awareness, marking the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The highlight of the celebration was the ‘Run for Peace’ marathon, held on the college campus, where teachers and students actively participated to promote peace, unity and a healthy lifestyle.
The event saw the presence of senior officials including Chairman Vishnu Sharan, Vice Chairman Puneet Aggarwal, Director Prof. Dr Anil Kumar Solanki, Prof. (Dr) Amit Jain, Dean Academics Dr Meenakshi Sharma, Dean IQAC & Student Welfare Alpana Tomar (Registrar), Controller of Examinations Dr Vipin Solanki, along with several faculty members and staff. During the programme, they highlighted Swami Vivekananda’s ideals and encouraged students to imbibe confidence, discipline, and a spirit of nation-building.
The marathon not only promoted physical fitness but also reinforced the values of peace and harmony in society. As part of the initiative, students took a pledge to stay away from substance abuse, committing to lead healthy, positive and purpose-driven lives.
Faculty and staff members including Dr Shafali Jagga, Shalini Singh, Harpreet Kaur, Ujjwal Tomar (Sports Officer), Anmol Kumar, and Rishi played an active role in organising and managing the event. The enthusiastic participation of a large number of students contributed to the programme’s success and motivational impact.
The National Youth Day event at Indraprastha Engineering College proved to be a commendable initiative in fostering social responsibility, ethical values, and awareness about healthy lifestyles among the youth.
