The initiative aims to equip students with knowledge of cutting-edge digital technologies and provide hands-on exposure to industry-relevant tools and platforms. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) and noted technology expert, Mr. Sarthak Jain, who attended as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the growing importance of cloud computing, particularly Microsoft Azure, in today’s technology-driven world. He emphasized that emerging technologies are reshaping the IT landscape and urged students to continuously upgrade their skills in line with industry demands.
The newly established Azure COE Lab is designed to offer practical learning opportunities in areas such as cloud computing, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things (IoT). It will enable students to work on real-world projects, thereby enhancing their technical competencies and employability.
The occasion was also attended by Director Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Singh, Dean Academics Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Associate Dean (CSE, IT & Allied Branches) Dr. Krishna Sharma, Head of Department (AI & ML) Dr. Ramveer Singh, and Head of Department (CSE–IoT) Dr. Praveen Kumar Mishra. The dignitaries appreciated the efforts of the CSE (IoT) and CSE (Data Science) departments in establishing the lab and stressed the importance of such initiatives in bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements.
Ms. Meetu Mann, SPOC for Microsoft Azure, was also present at the event. She encouraged students to actively utilize the lab facilities and make the most of the practical exposure it offers, which would significantly strengthen their technical skill sets.
Following the inauguration, Mr. Jain conducted an engaging and informative expert session on Microsoft Azure. The interactive session saw active participation from students, who raised queries and shared their perspectives on emerging cloud technologies.
The establishment of the Azure COE Lab reflects MIET’s continued commitment to delivering quality technical education and fostering industry-oriented learning, further strengthening its role in preparing students for future technological challenges.
