MIET Students Undertake Educational Industrial Visit to Yakult Danone India Ltd.

Meerut: The Department of Biosciences and Biotechnology at Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET), Meerut, successfully organized a one-day educational industrial visit to Yakult Danone India Pvt. Ltd., Sonipat (Haryana). The visit aimed to provide students with real-time exposure to industrial processes and enhance their practical understanding of probiotic beverage production.

A total of 73 students from M.Sc. Biotechnology & Microbiology (Final Year) and B.Sc. Biotechnology & Microbiology (Final Year) participated in the visit. The initiative was conducted under the guidance of Faculty Coordinator Dr. Rekha Yadav, Co-Coordinator Dr. Robin Kumar Pundir, and Head of Department Dr. Avinash Singh.

During the visit, industry experts Mehak and Shagun from Yakult delivered detailed insights into the complete probiotic production cycle. Their interactive sessions significantly enriched the students' academic learning and deepened their conceptual understanding of industrial microbiology and food biotechnology.

The visit not only familiarized the students with hands-on industrial techniques, but also provided crucial exposure to food safety standards, operational workflows, and career opportunities in the food and beverage sector. This practical engagement bridged the gap between classroom learning and industry requirements, proving to be immensely beneficial for the students' overall professional development.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Avinash Singh remarked, “Such industrial visits are vital for the holistic development of students. They not only strengthen theoretical understanding but also offer real-world exposure to industrial practices. This initiative marks a significant step in bridging academia and industry.”
