The program commenced with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony performed jointly by Rajrani Sharma from Pinkish Foundation, senior gynecologist Dr. Seema Malik, Karuna Sharma, Ritu Kaushik, Dr. Hema Negi (Head of MIT Women Cell), and Dr. Madhuri Gupta, CEO of the Meerut Udyami Foundation.
During the session, Dr. Seema Malik educated female students on the importance of maintaining personal hygiene during menstruation. She advised against the use of chemically-laden soaps for intimate hygiene, suggesting the use of clean water instead, which helps maintain the body’s natural pH balance, thereby reducing the risk of infections and dryness.
Rajrani Sharma highlighted the initiatives undertaken by the Pinkish Foundation for the welfare of students and urged young women to not only be aware but also to spread awareness among other women in their communities. She encouraged them to speak openly and confidently about health and hygiene-related topics.
Karuna Sharma introduced the students to various yoga practices that can help alleviate menstrual cramps and promote a healthier lifestyle. She emphasized that regular yoga routines play a significant role in enhancing both physical and mental well-being.
Dr. Hema Negi underlined that the objective of the workshop was to create awareness among women regarding their health and to encourage open conversations around menstruation and hygiene. Sanitary pads were distributed free of cost to all attendees as part of the initiative.
Other notable attendees included Dr. Madhuri Gupta, Dr. Hema Negi, Sonal Ahlawat, Ritima, Roopal, Chaudhary. The event was smoothly anchored by Priya Chaudhary.
