Meerut, Correspondent | A six-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) under the ATAL Academy, sponsored by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), commenced at Meerut Institute of Technology (MIT). The central theme of the program is “Advances in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning.”
The inaugural session witnessed the presence of key dignitaries, including Dr. K.L.A. Khan, Director; Dr. Himanshu Sharma, Principal; Dr. Neeraj Kant Sharma, Principal of Pharmacy; and Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Head of the Computer Science Department. The proceedings were anchored by Shumaila Hussain and Priya Chaudhary.
The program opened with a keynote lecture by Vidit Bhatia, Senior Manager at Adobe, who delivered an insightful session on “Building a RAG Model for Unstructured Data Using Generative AI.” His session provided a deep understanding of the current innovations and applications in the field of artificial intelligence.
The FDP saw participation from nearly 50 faculty members representing reputed academic institutions from Delhi-NCR and other states. MIT Chairman Vishnu Agarwal and Vice Chairman Puneet Agarwal, along with senior academic officials, welcomed the participants and emphasized the role of such programmes in strengthening academic and research competencies among faculty. They also expressed their commitment to continue organizing such impactful academic events.
The programme is being coordinated by Dr. Mukesh Rawat, with Dr. Pankaj Sharma serving as co-coordinator. In his address, Vice Chairman Puneet Agarwal highlighted that artificial intelligence is driving transformational change across all sectors, beyond just computer science. He stressed that FDPs provide a vital platform for knowledge sharing, innovation, and academic collaboration, ultimately contributing to national technological progress.
The upcoming sessions of the FDP will feature lectures by eminent experts, including Dr. Mayank Agarwal from Gurukul Kangri University, Avnish Kumar from Teles Digital Noida, Dr. Dilip Senapati from the University of Delhi, Dr. Anil Ahlawat from NIET Greater Noida, and Mani Madhukar from IBM Innovation Centre. The programme aims to empower faculty members with cutting-edge knowledge and pedagogical skills in emerging technologies.
