Cybersecurity National Workshop Concludes at Shri Venkateshwara University with Participation from 26 States

Over 550 students trained by top cyber experts from across India

The fifteen-day National Cybersecurity Workshop – 2025, jointly organized by the Uttar Pradesh Police, Amroha Police, and Shri Venkateshwara University, concluded on a high note today at the university's National Highway Bypass campus.

The workshop witnessed the participation of over 550 students from across 26 Indian states, representing disciplines such as Information Technology, Law, Engineering, and Management. Throughout the two-week event, more than two dozen cybersecurity experts from cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Gurugram, and Bhopal conducted intensive sessions on tackling modern cyber threats.

Participants were trained in identifying and preventing various forms of cybercrime, including banking frauds, phishing, Photoshop editing frauds, malware, ransomware, hacking, and digital arrest scams.

The valedictory ceremony was graced by Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Anand (IPS), who felicitated the participants and trainers with certificates and mementos, alongside university officials.

> "Cybercrime has emerged as one of the biggest global threats today," said SP Amit Kumar Anand.
"To counter this menace, we need collaborative efforts from law enforcement, educated youth, and civil society. This national workshop is a prime example of such cooperation and awareness-building."



Dr. Rajeev Tyagi, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University, praised the collaborative initiative, stating:

> “This workshop has not only trained future cyber professionals but has also contributed to broader public awareness on cybersecurity issues. The contribution of the U.P. Police and university is commendable.”



The inaugural session of the closing ceremony began with a traditional lamp-lighting ritual before the idol of Goddess Saraswati, led by SP Anand, Dr. Rajeev Tyagi, Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Krishna Kant Dave, Deputy SP Ms. Anjali Kataria, and Dr. Madhu Chaturvedi, among others.

Distinguished dignitaries present on the occasion included Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Piyush Pandey, Dean Academics Dr. Rajesh Singh, Public Relations Officer Dr. Shri Ram Gupta, Dr. Suman Kashyap, Cyber Expert Bhanu Sharma, Dr. Vikas Pandey, Dr. Snehlata Goswami, Dr. Amit Kumar, and Dr. Pratap from the Meerut campus. Media Coordinator Vishwas Rana and videographer Pritpal were also in attendance.

The workshop concluded with renewed determination among participants to act as “Cyber Warriors” in their respective communities and contribute meaningfully to the prevention of cybercrime across India.
