MeerutIn a significant move to bridge the gap between academia and industry, Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) and the Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCI), Meerut signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Saturday. The agreement aims to enhance collaborative efforts in research, innovation, skill development, and entrepreneurship.

The MoU was signed by Shubhendra Mittal, Joint Secretary of CCI Meerut, and Dr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Campus Director of MIET, in the presence of key industry representatives and academic leaders.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Singh highlighted that MIET had embraced the Industry 4.0 concept over a decade ago. “Our objective has always been to equip students not just with textbook knowledge, but with hands-on industrial exposure and practical competencies,” he stated.

He further emphasized that MIET houses the largest Centre of Excellence in Western Uttar Pradesh, along with state-of-the-art facilities such as the Atal Community Innovation Center, Incubation Forum, and the Idea Lab, all of which are actively fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and societal development.

“This partnership with the industry will amplify our efforts and serve as a dynamic launchpad for students across Meerut and Western Uttar Pradesh. By aligning academic frameworks with industrial expectations, we can produce industry-ready graduates and support local development,” Dr. Singh added.

The event witnessed the participation of several distinguished guests including Puneet Agarwal (Vice Chairman, MIET), Dr. Madhu Bala Sharma, Rohit Agarwal, Dr. K.K. Sharma, Rehan Ahmed, and Rocky Sachan, who lauded the initiative and reiterated the need for more such engagements between industry and academia.

The MoU is expected to pave the way for joint research projects, industrial training, internships, and knowledge-sharing workshops, benefiting both students and businesses alike.
