Orientation program for newly admitted students inspires commitment to national service; cultural performances steal the show
Meerut: The School of Nursing at Venkateshwara University organized a grand orientation program titled ‘Deeksharambh Neofest-2025’ to welcome newly admitted students. The event commenced at the university’s Tagore Hall with the traditional lighting of the lamp before the idol of Goddess Saraswati. Distinguished dignitaries present on the occasion included Founder Chairman Sudhir Giri, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Rajeev Tyagi, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Krishan Kant Dave, and Dean & Principal Dr. Anna Eric Brown.
The ceremony featured a series of vibrant cultural performances by students, showcasing their talent and adding a memorable touch to the festivity. Alumni of the institution also played a key role in making the event unforgettable. University authorities warmly welcomed the freshers and encouraged them to dedicate themselves to the noble cause of serving the nation through the nursing profession.
In his motivational address, Founder Chairman Sudhir Giri emphasized that India’s New Education Policy opens up numerous opportunities for youth across sectors. However, he added, “Nursing remains one of the most compassionate and service-oriented professions in the world. The role of nursing professionals is no less significant than that of doctors.” He further highlighted that Venkateshwara Group has trained thousands of skilled nursing professionals over the past decade, many of whom are now serving in reputed healthcare institutions both in India and abroad.
Pro-Chancellor Dr. Rajeev Tyagi remarked that with the evolving global healthcare scenario, there is an urgent need to train nursing students in alignment with both national and international standards. He assured that the university is fully committed to providing a safe, successful, and fulfilling career to all its nursing students.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Krishan Kant Dave urged students to give their 100% in every endeavor, stating that dedication and integrity are the true keys to success.
Dean and Principal Dr. Anna Eric Brown underlined the critical importance of nursing education, calling it a vital pillar in healthcare and medical services that continues to gain prominence.
