Dr. Shubham Tyagi inspires students to follow the path of courage and purpose
Meerut: The Venkateshwara Group of Institutions, located on the Delhi–Roorkee bypass, organized a grand Orientation Programme on Tuesday to welcome newly admitted students for the upcoming academic session. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from freshers eager to embark on their new academic journey.
The ceremony was inaugurated by Dr. Shubham Tyagi (Poet), who graced the occasion as the chief guest, along with Dr. Sudhir Giri, Founder and Chairman of Venkateshwara Group, Dr. Rajeev Tyagi, Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Pratap Singh, Campus Director, Dr. B.C. Dubey, Director of Education, Dr. Nitin Raj Verma, and Dr. Rahul Sharma. The dignitaries inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp before the idol of Goddess Saraswati.
In her keynote address, Dr. Shubham Tyagi urged students to draw inspiration from the real heroes of India’s history rather than fictional tales of kings and queens. She invoked the spirit of the 1857 Revolution of Meerut, paying tribute to the city’s historic role in India’s freedom struggle and encouraging students to carry forward the legacy of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism.
Campus Director Dr. Pratap Singh emphasized that education is not merely about academic excellence but also about holistic personality development. He advised students to nurture social and ethical values, develop leadership qualities, and become responsible citizens contributing to the nation’s growth.
The event also celebrated the achievements of meritorious students. Shubham Malik was felicitated for his performance in body-building at the university level, Rahul Kumar for representing at the national level in kickboxing, and Ashish Ahlawat for winning medals in inter-college yoga competitions.
Adding a cultural flair to the day, students Vansh, Muskan, Ilma, Anushka, Aakriti, Harshit, and Khushi presented vibrant performances that captivated the audience. The programme was skillfully anchored by Lavi and Sakshi Malik.
Among those present were Deepak Kumar, Brijpal Singh, Ankit Kaushal, Dr. Farheen Javed, Himanshu Sharma, Garima Sharma, Dr. Pankaj Kumar, Pooja Sharma, Sharmila Solanki, Priti Tyagi, Arun Sharma, Vidisha Chaudhary, Ravi Kumar, and Media Coordinator Vishwas Rana.
