Scientific Innovation and Creativity Shine at Science Fest–2025

Students Showcase Smart and Sustainable Models at MIT Meerut



Meerut — The Meerut Institute of Technology (MIT), located on the Partapur Bypass, hosted the grand Science Fest–2025, centered on the theme Smart and Sustainable Living – Innovation for a Greener Tomorrow.” The event aimed to promote technological integration and conscious lifestyle practices to reduce environmental impact and build a cleaner, greener future.

The fest was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Veerpal Singh, Head of Research, CCS University, along with Chairman Shri Vishnu Sharan, Vice Chairman Shri Puneet Aggarwal, Campus Director Dr. K.L.A. Khan, Principal Dr. Himanshu Sharma, Pharmacy Principal Dr. Neeraj Kant Sharma, Dean Academics Dr. Gaurav Sharma, and Head of Chemistry Department Dr. Sapna Deshwal.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Veerpal Singh emphasized the importance of sustainable development, stating, “Environmental protection and sustainable growth are the need of the hour. The younger generation must take the lead through scientific innovation to ensure a greener and healthier future.”

The Science Fest witnessed the enthusiastic participation of nearly 300 students from various schools of Meerut and Muzaffarnagar, who showcased their scientific knowledge, creativity, and technical skills. Among the exhibited projects were energy-efficient buildings, renewable energy systems using solar and wind power, and innovative recycling and composting solutions, all aimed at conserving resources and reducing carbon emissions.

As part of the fest, Working Model and Poster Presentation Competitions were organized, focusing on themes such as solar energy, water conservation, waste management, environmental balance, and smart technologies.

In the Best Concept Category, the first prize went to Ved International School, Siwaya; the second prize to Gargi Girls School, Ganganagar; and the third prize to Khalsa Girls Inter College, Thapar Nagar.

In the Best Creativity Category, Rishabh Academy, Sadar secured the first prize, St. Joseph Girls Inter College, Sardhana won the second, and TDKK Girls Inter College, Sharda Road bagged the third prize.

Under the Best Presentation Category, the first prize was awarded to Rhombus World School, Modipuram; second to Radha Govind Public School, Garh Road; and third to B.K. Maheshwari Girls Inter College, Meerut.

All the winners were felicitated with cash prizes and mementos by the dignitaries.

Dr. Sapna Deshwal, Head of the Chemistry Department, expressed that “Science Fest–2025 served as an inspiring platform for students, fostering a scientific mindset, innovation, and a sense of responsibility towards environmental sustainability.”

The event concluded with a vote of thanks, marking a day filled with innovation, learning, and enthusiasm. Among those present were Sakshi Malik, Sumit Rana, Ankita Agarwal, Ritima, Ajay Chaudhary, and Sakshi Chauhan, along with several faculty members and students.
