Venkateshwara University Receives National Honour for Innovations in AI-Driven Legal Education

Supreme Court Judge Justice Rakesh Bindal Confers ‘Outstanding Law Institute’ Award

Meerut: Venkateshwara University has achieved yet another national milestone in the field of legal education with its pioneering efforts in integrating Artificial Intelligence into law studies. The university was honoured with the prestigious ‘Outstanding Law Institute’ award by Hon’ble Justice Rakesh Bindal, Senior Judge of the Supreme Court of India, and Attorney General of India R. Venkataramani. The recognition was presented during the National Seminar and Felicitation Ceremony–2025 on the theme “Role of AI in Legal System,” jointly organised by the Indian Law Institute and the Supreme Court at the Supreme Court Complex, New Delhi.

While presenting the award to Venkateshwara University Pro-Chancellor Dr. Rajeev Tyagi, Justice Bindal emphasized that although Artificial Intelligence has become indispensable in the modern judicial ecosystem, it must be used responsibly. He stated, “AI should strictly be treated as a helping tool, not a master coach or a replacement for human intelligence. No technology can surpass the security, wisdom, and analytical strength of the human mind.”

Attorney General R. Venkataramani praised Venkateshwara University for its forward-looking approach and urged other institutions across the country to adopt similar innovations in legal education to make the justice delivery system more swift, accurate, transparent, and efficient.

Venkateshwara Group Chairman Dr. Sudhir Giri expressed pride over the recognition, stating that receiving such an honour from the nation’s top legal authorities is a matter of immense prestige for the institution.

The ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp before the idol of Goddess Saraswati, in the presence of Justice Bindal, Attorney General Venkataramani, Indian Law Institute Director Dr. V.K. Ahuja, academician and author Dinesh Raghuvanshi, and Dr. Rajeev Tyagi. The event was also attended by senior IAS officer Ashish Singh, Supreme Court senior advocates Vikas Verma and Vinod Kumar Goyal, former judge and advocate Pawan Duggal, along with several distinguished legal experts.
