Russian Artists Enthrall Audience at IPEC, Cultural Exchange Reaches New Heights



Sahibabad: Inderprastha Engineering College (IPEC), in collaboration with the Russian Cultural Centre, New Delhi, hosted a grand Russian Folk Dance Evening featuring the renowned model choreographic ensemble “Kazachye Razdolye” from Russia. The event turned the IPEC campus into a vibrant platform of international cultural harmony, as the visiting artists captivated the audience with their energetic and visually engaging performances.

Welcoming the guests, Mr. Vibhuti Shankar, Vice President (International Relations), IPEC, highlighted the institution’s sustained efforts towards fostering global cultural and academic collaborations. Recalling earlier international engagements, he referred to the visit of a high-level Russian delegation to IPEC that coincided with the India visit of the President of the Russian Federation, H.E. Mr. Vladimir Putin. He described the participation of the dance troupe from the Stavropol region as another significant milestone in IPEC’s growing international cultural outreach.

Speaking on the occasion, IPEC Vice Chairman Mr. Puneet Aggarwal underscored the role of cultural initiatives in strengthening soft power diplomacy between India and Russia. He observed that such programmes leave a lasting impression on young minds and help build a strong foundation for future socio-technical cooperation between the two nations.

The young women performers of the Russian ensemble presented a captivating repertoire of traditional folk dances inspired by the lifestyle, heritage and customs of the Terek Cossacks. Their synchronised movements, expressive choreography, vibrant costumes and authentic musical accompaniment offered the audience a vivid glimpse into Russia’s rich folk traditions. Ms. Elena Barman from the Russian Cultural Centre noted that the ensemble has participated in numerous national and international cultural festivals across major cities including Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Led by Artistic Director Ms. Elena Kuropatkina, the troupe showcased a strong commitment to preserving Russian folk heritage. Complementing the evening, Indian classical and folk dance performances were also presented, symbolising mutual respect and artistic harmony between Indian and Russian cultures.

The programme concluded with enthusiastic applause from students, faculty members and guests. Among those present were IPEC Director Dr. Anil Solanki, Dean Student Welfare Dr. Meenakshi Sharma, Dean Academics Dr. Amit Jain, Sunita Yadav, Ajay Chaudhary and other dignitaries.
