81 Meritorious Students Awarded Rs 21.56 Lakh Scholarships at MIET

Financial aid brings cheer to economically weaker students

Meerut: As many as 81 meritorious students from economically weaker sections were awarded scholarships worth Rs 21.56 lakh at a cheque distribution ceremony held at Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET).

The scholarships were distributed by chief guest Sanjay Kumar Meena, Vice-Chairman of the Meerut Development Authority, along with special guest Vijay Pradhan of Mohiddinpur and Vishnu Sharan, अध्यक्ष of Pishtiya Vidya Usha Trust.

Under the initiative of Pishtiya Vidya Usha Trust, each selected student received Rs 30,000. The financial assistance will be provided annually to enable students to continue their education without financial constraints.

Addressing the students, Meena urged them to pursue careers in fields aligned with their interests and to dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to academic excellence. He emphasised that hard work and perseverance are the keys to success and encouraged students to bring pride to their parents and district.

Vishnu Sharan said the trust was established in 2015 after it was observed that several meritorious students were forced to discontinue their studies due to financial difficulties and lack of access to government scholarships. For the past 12 years, the trust has been consistently supporting deserving students from economically weaker backgrounds.

Vice-chairman Puneet Agarwal, Gaurav Agarwal, director Prof (Dr) S.K. Singh, dean academics Gaurav Sharma, Dr Vineet Kumar, Manoj Agarwal, Ajay Chaudhary and other faculty members were present on the occasion.
