MIET Hosts ‘Beyond the Bookshelf and Startup’ Workshop; 10 Books Launched



Meerut: Meerut Institute of Engineering & Technology (MIET) witnessed a confluence of literature, entrepreneurship and intellectual discourse with the organisation of ‘Beyond the Bookshelf and Startup Workshop’. The event was jointly organised by Aesthetics International, Mom Money & Mindset, and the MIET Incubation Forum.

The programme featured book launches, panel discussions, literature awards and a startup-focused workshop, offering a comprehensive platform for authors, thinkers and aspiring entrepreneurs. A major highlight of the event was the launch of 10 books, along with the unveiling of four book covers and the conduct of two insightful panel discussions.

The books released included Olive Diaries by Hemant Saxena, Twisted Tales and Turns (Fiction) by Smita Das Jain, The Mewar Conspiracy by Rashima Verma, Game Changer Monk by Akshay Shroff, In the Footsteps of Ram by Nilesh Kulkarni, The Consumer Code by Meenakshi Gaba, and The Protector by Veena Gupta, among others. The panel discussions focused on emerging trends in literature, publishing, and the evolving role of authors in the startup ecosystem.

On the occasion, MIET Group of Institutions Chairman Vishnu Sharan was conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to education and institutional development. Senior journalist Ajay Chaudhary was honoured with the Media Icon Award 2026 for his notable contributions to the media industry.

MIET Incubation Forum CEO Rehan Ahmed conducted an interactive startup workshop, where more than 50 authors were introduced to key aspects of startups, including innovation, branding, funding and entrepreneurial mindset. He emphasised that contemporary writers have the potential to emerge not only as creators but also as successful entrepreneurs.

The event was attended by Aesthetics International Founder Tanmay Sharma, MIET Incubation Forum CEO Rehan Ahmed, Prerna Rohilla, and several eminent personalities from the fields of literature, education and entrepreneurship. The programme was widely appreciated as a significant initiative towards bridging the gap between creative writing and startup culture.
