MIET to host three-day annual fest ‘Kolahal-26’ from February 26; Parmish Verma to headline star night

Meerut: Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) will host its three-day annual cultural festival, ‘Kolahal-26’, from February 26, bringing together literature, music, theatre and fashion on one platform.

Addressing a press conference, Dr Hani Tomar, Dean – Student Welfare and festival coordinator, said the event aims to provide students with a vibrant platform to showcase their creative talent and channelise their energy in a constructive manner. “The festival will celebrate diverse art forms and encourage holistic development among students,” he said.

The opening day will feature a grand poets’ meet with noted Hindi poets including Shambhu Shikhar, Dr P.K. Azad, Khushboo Sharma and Dr Praveen Shukla, who will present humorous, satirical and inspirational compositions.

On the second day, students will compete in a range of cultural events such as solo, duet and group dance, ‘Swar Sangam’ (solo, duet and group singing), ‘Mr and Miss Kolahal’ and ‘Battle of Bands’. The evening will culminate in a DJ night.

The final day will showcase theatrical performances and a fashion show themed around ‘Rajwada’, ‘Western’, ‘Arabian’ and traditional attire. The highlight of the festival will be a live performance by Punjabi singer Parmish Verma on February 28, where he is set to perform his popular tracks before an enthusiastic student audience.

Press spokesperson Ajay Chaudhary said all arrangements, including security measures, have been put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the event. Student coordinators Kartikeya Kaushal, Sucheth Singh, Ishu Pandey, Sahar Sharma and Mahi were also present at the briefing.
