Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology to hold convocation on February 26
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University Vice-Chancellor Prof JP Pandey to confer degrees on 1,108 students
The ceremony will be presided over by Prof (Dr) JP Pandey, Vice-Chancellor of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). On the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor will also inaugurate the Centre of Excellence in VLSI Design and Technology and the Centre for Drone Technology at the institute.
Addressing a press conference, Campus Director Prof (Dr) Sanjay Kumar Singh said that degrees will be conferred on 718 BTech, 68 BPharma, 176 MBA, 113 MCA, 12 MTech and 21 MPharma students.
Under the academic honours category, Tanu Tyagi will receive the gold medal for securing first position in MTech (CSE) at the university level, while Pragya Jain will be awarded the silver medal for securing second position.
Rank medals will also be presented to students who secured positions in the university’s top-10 list, including Tanvi Bansal (BTech Computer Science), Deepak Sharma (Electrical Engineering), Monika Kansal (MBA), Prashasti and Vikshika (Biotechnology), and Nandani Agrawal (MCA).
In recognition of innovation and entrepreneurship, Diakshant and Manohar will be honoured with the Best Startup Award in the Technology category, Mohit in the Sustainability category, and Sarthak Sisodiya in the Accessibility category.
Following the convocation, an industry-academia interaction session will be held to deliberate on key industry challenges and potential solutions. Representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Indian Industries Association, Meerut Management Association, and sectors including manufacturing, electronic sports goods, infrastructure, heavy vehicles and banking are expected to participate.
MIET spokesperson Ajay Choudhary, Dean Academics Dr Sanjeev Singh, Registrar Shivpujan Singh, Dean Student Welfare Dr Honey Tomar and Dr Madhubala Sharma were also present at the press briefing.
