Expert Talk on Financial Literacy Organized at MIET
Meerut: To mark International Women’s Day, the Women Cell of Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) organized an expert talk on the theme “Financial Literacy for Women.” The session aimed to raise awareness among women about the importance of financial planning and investment for a secure and independent future.
The keynote speaker for the event was Ms. Prerna Sethi, Director of Orane Leathers Pvt. Ltd. In her address, she highlighted the significance of early savings and prudent investment as essential steps toward achieving financial independence and long-term security. She encouraged women to develop sound financial habits, understand various investment options, and actively participate in financial decision-making.
Ms. Sethi emphasized that time is the biggest advantage in wealth creation. She noted that when individuals begin saving early in life, their money gets more time to grow through the power of compounding. Savings, when directed into investments and emergency funds, provide financial stability and help individuals achieve their long-term life goals.
The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from female faculty members, staff, and students, who attended the talk and benefited from the valuable insights shared by the speaker.
The event was successfully coordinated by members of the Women Cell, including Dr. Ashima Kathuria, Dr. Madhu Bala Sharma, Dr. Ruchi Garg, Dr. Neha Mittal, Dr. Shweta Shukla, and Ms. Nidhi Gulati, who played a key role in organizing the programme.
