Venkateshwara University Launch National Cyber Security Workshop 2026 in Amroha





Amroha: Uttar Pradesh Police, in collaboration with Shri Venkateshwara University, inaugurated the National Cyber Security Workshop 2026 at the university campus in Amroha. The two-week workshop aims to strengthen cyber awareness and equip participants with practical skills to combat the growing threat of cybercrime.

More than 850 students, cyber security enthusiasts, and professionals from over 28 states and Union Territories are participating in the programme. Experts from Mumbai, Hyderabad, Gurugram, Bengaluru, Delhi, Chandigarh and Kolkata will conduct intensive sessions on cyber threats, including hacking, phishing, digital arrest scams, malware, ransomware and online banking fraud.

The workshop was inaugurated by renowned cyber security expert Amit Dubey, along with Amroha Superintendent of Police Lakhan Singh Yadav, Pro-Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi, Additional SP Akhilesh Bhadauria, Deputy SP Anjali Kataria, Vice-Chancellor Krishna Kant Dave and other dignitaries.

Addressing the participants, Amit Dubey said cyber security professionals and law enforcement agencies must stay “ten steps ahead” of cyber criminals to effectively tackle emerging digital threats. SP Lakhan Singh Yadav described cybercrime as a major challenge not only for individuals but also for national security, emphasizing the need for greater public participation and awareness.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rajeev Tyagi said the university has introduced several certificate courses related to cyber security, digital fraud prevention and e-commerce safety to help citizens protect themselves from online threats.

The workshop will continue for two weeks and conclude on June 22, when successful participants will receive certificates from Uttar Pradesh Police and academic credits from the university. Organizers said the initiative is designed to create a strong network of trained “Cyber Warriors” capable of supporting law enforcement agencies in the fight against cybercrime.

The programme is being supported by Jubilant Bhartia Foundation, Trinet and Cerium Solutions as part of the National Cyber Security Internship Programme.
