VIMS Doctors Successfully Perform High-Risk Gallbladder Surgery on 90-Year-Old Woman

Meerut: Doctors at VIMS Multispeciality Hospital, under Shri Venkateshwara University, successfully performed a high-risk laparoscopic gallbladder surgery on a 90-year-old woman, marking a significant medical achievement.

The patient, Premvati, was suffering from severe gallbladder disease along with multiple age-related health complications. Owing to her advanced age and high surgical risk, several hospitals in Meerut and Delhi had reportedly advised against surgery.
A team led by Prof. (Dr.) Abhay Bhatnagar, Head of Surgery, along with senior laparoscopic surgeons Dr. Atul Agrawal and Dr. Ashutosh Sanga, and anesthesiologist Prof. (Dr.) Vipin Kumar successfully carried out the procedure. The patient has recovered well and was discharged from the hospital.
Congratulating the medical team, Venkateshwara Group Founder Chairman Sudhir Giri reiterated the institution’s commitment to providing affordable, accessible, and world-class healthcare services. Pro-Chancellor Dr. Rajeev Tyagi said that with experienced specialists, advanced medical technology, and quality patient care, VIMS is emerging as a preferred healthcare destination for patients across North India.
