MIET hosts SIH 2025 Internal Round, 50 Teams Selected for Nationals

Meerut: The Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) on Thursday witnessed an atmosphere of innovation and energy as the institute hosted the Internal Round of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025. The event, organized by the IT Department’s Student Council, drew participation from 1,045 students across 180 teams, all eager to present their breakthrough ideas. After a rigorous evaluation process, 50 top-performing teams secured their place in the All-India External Round of SIH 2025.

Participants showcased projects across diverse themes, with Artificial Intelligence, Agriculture, Cybersecurity, and Blockchain emerging as the key focus areas. The innovative solutions reflected an effort to address real-world challenges through cutting-edge technology.

The projects were assessed by a jury comprising industry experts and senior faculty members. The panel included Mr. Manoj Kumar Sharma (Director, Adya Techno Bytes Pvt. Ltd.), Mr. Dev Chauhan (Developer Associate, Fetch AI) and Mr. Harsh Tyagi (Co-founder, Innovacore Technology & Solution Ltd.), who not only evaluated the ideas but also offered constructive feedback to help students refine their projects further.

Congratulating the participants, MIET Management Committee Chairman Mr. Vishnu Sharan Agarwal and Vice Chairman Mr. Puneet Agarwal highlighted the event as a valuable platform for students to nurture creativity and innovation.

Institute Director Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Kumar Singh encouraged students to continue contributing to technology and research. “Platforms like SIH empower young talent, instill confidence, and prepare them to play a vital role in the nation’s progress,” he said.

The success of the event owed much to the efforts of Dean Academics Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Convener Prof. (Dr.) Swati Sharma, SIH SPOC Prof. (Dr.) Mukesh Rawat, SCIT Coordinators Asst. Prof. Preksha Pratap and Asst. Prof. Himani Chaudhary. Student coordinators Ankit Bansal and Ayush Kumar also played a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of the event.
