Navratri Celebrations See Youth in Traditional Attire Groove to Vibrant Beats
Meerut: On the auspicious occasion of Navratri, the MIET campus at Baghpat Bypass came alive with the vibrant beats of Garba and Dandiya, as students in colorful traditional attire showcased the richness of Indian culture. The grand Dandiya Night turned the campus into a festive spectacle reminiscent of Gujarat’s iconic celebrations.
The evening began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony by MIET Chairman Vishnu Sharan, Vice Chairman Puneet Aggarwal, Director Dr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Dean of Student Welfare Dr. Honey Tomar, Chief Proctor Dr. Rana Top Singh Pundeer, Dean Academics Dr. Sanjeev Singh, Dean Vineet Aggarwal, and Media Head Ajay Chaudhary.
As the music picked up, the energy on the dance floor soared. To the electrifying beats of DJ Eddy, students danced late into the night, immersed in the rhythm of Garba and Dandiya. The dazzling lights, vibrant decorations, and traditional outfits transformed the campus into a slice of Gujarat. While young women twirled in lehenga-cholis, male students flaunted kurtas, pyjamas, and Kathiawadi-inspired attire, adding to the authentic festive spirit.
Faculty members too joined in, cheering for the students and adding warmth to the celebratory mood. Anchored enthusiastically by Priya Chaudhary, the event remained lively and engaging throughout.
