Shri Venkateshwara University/Institute Hosts Grand Social Initiatives at Historic Ganga Mela 2025

Bollywood Night and National Kavi Sammelan to Mark the Main Bathing Day on November 4


Meerut: Venkateshwara University/Institute, located along the National Highway Bypass, inaugurated a series of major social welfare initiatives as part of the historic Ganga Mela 2025 on Saturday. The events included a mega free health camp, 24-hour ambulance service, and a Ganga cleanliness drive, among more than a dozen public welfare programmes. The initiative was jointly inaugurated by District Magistrate Nidhi Gupta Vats and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Rajeev Tyagi by cutting the ribbon.

Addressing the gathering, District Magistrate Nidhi Gupta Vats lauded the institute’s efforts, stating that Venkateshwara University is known not only for its excellence in higher education and healthcare but also for its commitment to social responsibility. “The university’s initiative at this historic fair will greatly benefit the lakhs of devotees visiting the Ganga Mela,” she said.

The university has set up a 10-bed temporary hospital and a free medical camp to provide healthcare services to pilgrims. Additionally, a dedicated advanced ambulance has been stationed at the fairground to ensure immediate medical assistance and transport to higher medical centers in case of emergencies.

The District Magistrate commended the university’s contributions to education, health, and social welfare in the district, encouraging other institutions and organizations to undertake similar initiatives for public good.

Prominent attendees at the event included Chief Development Officer Ashwani Mishra, BJYM President Shubham Chaudhary, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Krishnakant Dave, Dr. B.S. Tyagi, Medical Superintendent Dr. Mehta, Arun Goswami, Dr. Pratap Singh, S.S. Baghel, and Media In-charge Vishwas Rana.

Speaking about the upcoming festivities, Media In-charge Vishwas Rana announced that on the main bathing day, November 4, the institute will organize a grand Bollywood Night, featuring renowned Bollywood singer Nishita Sharma, followed by a spectacular All-India Kavi Sammelan conducted by noted poet Dr. Dinesh Raghuvanshi, with participation from celebrated poets across the country.

Through these extensive social and cultural programs, Venkateshwara University has added a new dimension to Ganga Mela 2025, drawing widespread appreciation and enthusiasm from devotees and the local community alike.
