Meerut: Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL), a national leader in test preparatory services, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Army to support the welfare and educational aspirations of Army personnel and their families. The initiative covers serving and retired personnel, gallantry award winners, personnel with disabilities, and the families of soldiers who have laid down their lives in the line of duty.
Speaking on the occasion, AESL Managing Director and CEO Chandra Shekhar Gurram Reddy said education forms the strongest foundation for a brighter future. “Through our partnership with the Indian Army, we aim to honour the sacrifices of our brave soldiers by empowering their children with quality education, mentorship and guidance. Our scholarship programmes, along with structured mentoring and counselling, are designed to help students realise their full potential and emerge as leaders in their chosen fields,” he said.
Under the MoU, AESL will provide comprehensive mentoring and counselling support to the children of Army personnel through both virtual and physical modes. The support will address academic as well as career-related queries and will be available throughout the duration of the agreement.
Benefits for Army students
As part of the agreement, AESL will extend special benefits to students from Army families enrolling at its centres across the country. The MoU was signed by Colonel, Ceremonial and Welfare 3 & 4, on behalf of the Indian Army, and Dr Yashpal, Chief Academic and Business Head (Delhi-NCR), on behalf of AESL. The collaboration focuses on enhancing the welfare of Army personnel and their families, including the provision of scholarships for various courses offered at AESL centres nationwide.
MoU with CRPF Family Welfare Association
In a similar initiative, AESL recently entered into an MoU with the Central Reserve Police Force Family Welfare Association (CWA). The partnership aims to provide educational support, scholarships and career guidance to the children and families of CRPF personnel across India.
Key concessions and facilities
Children of personnel martyred in the line of duty will be required to pay only the registration fee, with a 100 per cent waiver on all other fees.
