Meerut: Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) celebrated National Youth Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, with enthusiasm and a strong sense of social responsibility. As part of the initiative, MIET organised inspirational outreach programmes at Shaheed Kotwal Dhan Singh Gurjar Inter College, Panchli Khurd village; Kanohar Lal Inter College, Meerut; and Mother India Inter College on Jansath Road, Muzaffarnagar.
The programmes were conducted by Dean Student Welfare Dr Honey Tomar, Chief Proctor Rana Top Singh Pundir, and Rahul Kumar. Addressing the students, the speakers highlighted Swami Vivekananda’s life, philosophy and the pivotal role of youth in nation-building. The sessions aimed to instil self-confidence, discipline, character building, patriotism and a spirit of social service among students.
The speakers explained Swami Vivekananda’s iconic message—“Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is achieved”—through simple and relatable examples, motivating students to remain focused and committed to their goals. Emphasis was laid on youth empowerment through education, ethical values, positive thinking and social responsibility.
Students participated enthusiastically and showed keen interest in the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. The programme concluded with a collective pledge to imbibe his ideals in daily life and contribute meaningfully to personal growth as well as national development.
