Five-Day Faculty Development Programme on MATLAB Begins at MIET

Meerut: Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) has commenced a five-day online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Hands-on MATLAB for Engineering Problem-Solving. The programme aims to equip faculty members with practical skills to solve engineering and mathematical problems using MATLAB.

During the programme, participants are being introduced to the MATLAB environment, including the use of built-in functions and toolboxes. Key topics include writing and debugging scripts and functions, numerical computations, matrix operations, and data analysis using 2D and 3D visualisation. The FDP also focuses on developing and simulating mathematical and engineering models, along with applications in areas such as signal processing, control systems and data analysis.

On the first day, sessions covered basic mathematical concepts, matrix operations, linear algebra and numerical methods through hands-on demonstrations, helping participants strengthen their problem-solving and simulation skills.

The programme is being convened by Dr Swati Maheshwari, with Dr Richi Singh as co-convener. The organisers expressed gratitude to Dean First Year Dr Vineet Kumar, Head of the Department of Applied Science Dr Nidhi Chaudhary and all faculty members for their support and participation.

MIET Chairman Vishnu Sharan, Vice Chairman Punit Agrawal, Campus Director Dr Sanjay Kumar Singh and Dean Academics Dr Sanjeev Kumar Singh congratulated the organisers and described the FDP as a valuable initiative for faculty skill development.
