Meerut: The three-day annual cultural festival ‘Kolahal 2026’ concluded on a high note at Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) on Saturday, with an energetic live performance by Punjabi singer Parmish Verma drawing huge cheers from students.
The final day began with a prize distribution ceremony honouring winners of various competitions and meritorious students. This was followed by stage performances in which six teams presented plays highlighting pressing social issues such as politics, women’s safety, female foeticide and sexual violence, delivering strong social messages through theatre.
An open mic session was also organised, providing students a platform to showcase their talents through poetry, singing and other creative acts.
The highlight of the evening was Parmish Verma’s live concert. The popular Punjabi artiste set the stage on fire with back-to-back hit numbers, sending the audience into a frenzy. Students were seen dancing enthusiastically to songs such as ‘Aam Jahe Munde’, ‘Gal Ni Kadni’, ‘Aa Le Chak Main Aa Gaya’, ‘Sab Fade Jange’, ‘Kache Pakke Yaar’, ‘Chaar Yaar’, ‘Shada’ and ‘Pinda Aale Jatt’.
The campus reverberated with cheers of “once more” as the singer kept the energy levels soaring. The stage, illuminated with vibrant lights, coupled with loud applause, whistles and a sea of mobile flashlights, created a concert-like atmosphere. The celebrations continued late into the night, marking a memorable conclusion to the festival.
MIET chairman Vishnu Sharan, vice-chairman Puneet Agarwal, campus director Prof (Dr) S.K. Singh, dean academics Dr Sanjeev Singh, dean student welfare Dr Honey Tomar and media head Ajay Chaudhary were present on the occasion. Student coordinators Kartikeya, Kaushal, Sucheta Singh, Ishu Pandey, Sahar Sharma and Mahi, along with a large number of students, attended the event.
The grand finale of Kolahal 2026 reflected youthful enthusiasm, cultural vibrancy and high-energy entertainment.
