Meerut: On the eve of International Women’s Day, Venkateshwara Group of Institutions, located on the National Highway Bypass in Meerut, organized the “Venkateshwara Matrushakti Samman Samaroh–2026” with great enthusiasm and dignity. During the ceremony, around three dozen women who have made remarkable contributions in fields such as education, healthcare, medicine, yoga, spirituality, culture, and sports were honoured with a ceremonial stole, turban, and memento.
A unique feature of the program was that women were given prominence in leadership roles during the event. Women occupied the front rows and key positions, while male officials and staff members of the management and administration stood in the back rows as a mark of respect for women and to demonstrate their commitment to women empowerment.
The program was held at the Dr. C. V. Raman Auditorium of the Venkateshwara Institution. The ceremony was inaugurated by Founder Chairman Shri Sudhir Giri, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Rajeev Tyagi, renowned litterateur and poetess as well as Chairperson of the Venkateshwara Cultural Cell Dr. Madhu Chaturvedi, Acting Vice-Chancellor Yuvraj Singh, and B.K. Vimal Devi from the Brahma Kumaris Organization by lighting the ceremonial lamp before the idol of Goddess Saraswati.
Students of the university presented poetry recitations and various cultural performances dedicated to the honour of women, which made the event memorable and inspiring.
Addressing the gathering, Founder Chairman Shri Sudhir Giri stated that the presence of Hon’ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu at the country’s highest constitutional position and Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh Smt. Anandiben Patel reflects that women in India have reached the pinnacle of leadership and respect. He further emphasized that initiatives such as “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Beti Khilao” and “Nari Vandan” introduced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister have significantly strengthened the dignity and empowerment of women across the nation.
Pro-Chancellor Dr. Rajeev Tyagi remarked that Indian culture has always revered and respected women, and the tradition of honoring maternal power has existed for centuries.
Among the prominent women honoured during the ceremony were renowned litterateur and poetess Dr. Madhu Chaturvedi, B.K. Vimal Didi, B.K. Nirdosh Didi, B.K. Rachna Didi from the Brahma Kumaris, Dr. Snehlata Goswami from Humanities, Dr. Reena Joshi and Diksha from the Paramedical field, Dr. Manjari Rana and Dr. Karuna Joshi from Nursing, Dr. Jyoti Singh and Dr. Aashiya Wahid from Agriculture, Dr. Shilpa Raina from Research, and Dr. Anshu, Dr. Shahzadi Khatun, Dr. Shraddha Pandey, Induwala, Anusha Karnwal, Huma Kausar, Nisha, Sumanpreet Kaur, Shivani, and Anjali Thakur from the Management field.
The program was attended by S.S. Baghel, Dr. Arun Kumar Goswami, Dr. Vikas Kumar Pandey, Dr. Shriram Gupta, Shakti Dhwaj, Dr. Pankaj Kumar, and Media Incharge Vishwas Rana, along with a large number of faculty members, staff, and students.
