The screening took place at the Dr. C.V. Raman Auditorium and began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp before the idol of Goddess Saraswati. The inaugural session was attended by Yusuf Sheikh from Mumbai, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Rajeev Tyagi, Amit Singh from Pt. Deendayal Gaushala Sansthan, Acting Vice-Chancellor CA Yuvraj Singh, and Registrar Prof. Piyush Kumar Pandey.
On the occasion, Yusuf Sheikh and Amit Singh felicitated Dr. Rajeev Tyagi with a special idol of Gaumata and a ceremonial stole.
The two-hour-ten-minute film showcased the historical, religious, and spiritual significance of cows in Indian society, while also highlighting the medicinal and agricultural benefits of cow-based products such as milk, cow urine, and dung. Speakers at the event noted that cow’s milk is rich in antioxidants, while cow urine has been associated with detoxifying properties and boosting immunity.
Founder Chairman of the Venkateshwara Group, Sudhir Giri, emphasised that the cow is not only a symbol of faith but also holds immense value from a health perspective. Dr. Rajeev Tyagi stated that if even a section of affluent citizens adopt and support cow conservation alongside other domestic animals, the vision of a “Healthy India” could be realised within a decade.
He also highlighted that the university’s gaushala currently cares for 21 cattle and reiterated the institution’s commitment to promoting awareness about sustainable and traditional practices. He appealed to citizens to watch the film in nearby theatres and understand its core message.
The event was attended by several faculty members, including Dean Academics Dr. Rajesh Singh, Dr. Neetu Panwar, Dr. Suman, Dr. Rajvardhan, Dr. Ashutosh, Dr. Ashwini Saxena, Dr. S.K. Srivastava, Dr. Mohit Sharma, Dr. Omprakash Gosai, Dr. Dheeraj, Dr. Anna Eric Brown, Dr. Reena Joshi, Dr. Anil Jaiswal, Dr. Yogeshwar, Dr. Thomas, Dr. Ram Kumar, Dr. Jyoti Singh, Dr. Brajkishore, Dr. Chandrakant, Dr. Preeti Mishra, Dr. Vikas Pandey, Dr. Manjari Rana, and Dr. Shriram Gupta, among others.
Students and staff members, including Krishan Kant Gurjar, Pranshul Sethi, Anusha Karnwal, Himani, Nisha, Riya, Harpreet, Sheelbhadra, Prashant, Sonu Saini, Aadesh Singh, along with Dr. Pankaj Singh and Media In-charge Vishwas Rana from the Meerut campus, were also present in large numbers.
The screening served as a meaningful initiative to connect students with India’s traditional values while promoting awareness about sustainable practices and holistic well-being.
