451 students to receive degrees; 66 toppers to be awarded medals and ₹4.15 lakh in cash prizes
Ghaziabad: A unique confluence of academic excellence and industry collaboration will be witnessed at Indraprastha Engineering College (IPEC), Sahibabad, on April 17, as the institution hosts a University–Industry Conclave along with its Grand Convocation Ceremony 2026. The event, being organised in association with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow, is in its final stages of preparation.
The programme aims to celebrate students’ academic achievements while strengthening the bridge between academia and industry. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. J.P. Pandey will attend as the Chief Guest and confer degrees upon graduating students. Anoop Kumar Rai, Executive Director at Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Central Research Laboratory, will be present as the Guest of Honour, sharing insights from the industry.
Addressing a press conference, Campus Director Dr. D.K. Sharma stated that the primary objective of the conclave is to reduce the gap between education and industry, promote innovation, and equip students with employable skills. “In today’s competitive landscape, a degree alone is not sufficient—industry-ready skills are equally essential. This conclave is focused on that very goal,” he said.
The industrial meet, jointly organised by AKTU and the IPEC TBI Foundation, will witness participation from key industry bodies, including the Indian Industries Association, Sahibabad Industries Association, Ghaziabad and Noida Management Association, and the District Industries Centre. More than 70 multinational and Navratna companies are expected to be represented by founders, managing directors, senior managers, and HR leaders.
A major highlight of the event will be the participation of over 50 successful alumni entrepreneurs, who will share their journeys and experiences with current students. Additionally, an interactive session involving more than 100 industry experts and the Vice-Chancellor will focus on real-world industrial challenges and practical solutions.
During the convocation ceremony, a total of 451 students will be awarded degrees across various disciplines—168 from Computer Science Engineering, 103 from Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, 66 from Data Science, 12 from Electronics and Communication Engineering, and 102 from Information Technology. Furthermore, 66 meritorious students will be honoured with medals, along with cash awards amounting to approximately ₹4.15 lakh.
Dr. Sharma added that the initiative aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and the goal of transforming Uttar Pradesh into a trillion-dollar economy. He expressed confidence that such initiatives would play a crucial role in preparing students for global competition.
Senior officials present at the press briefing included Dean Academics Amit Jain, Registrar Alpana Rani, Dean Student Welfare Dr. Meenakshi Sharma, and Media Head Ajay Chaudhary.
