850 Participants from 26 States Trained at National Cyber Security Workshop

Meerut: A 12-day National Cyber Security Workshop jointly organised by UP Police, Amroha, and Shri Venkateshwara University concluded with a grand valedictory ceremony at the university campus on the Delhi-Dehradun Highway. The workshop brought together more than 850 participants from 26 states, making it one of the largest cyber security awareness and training initiatives in the region.

The closing ceremony was attended by J.P. Singh, Additional Director General of Police (ADG), Himachal Pradesh, who distributed certificates and mementos to participants and cyber experts. Speaking on the occasion, Singh said the fight against cybercrime cannot be left to law enforcement agencies alone and requires active participation from students, professionals, social organisations and informed citizens.

During the workshop, over two dozen cyber security experts from Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Gurugram and Bhopal conducted intensive training sessions on emerging cyber threats and investigative techniques. Participants were trained in identifying and preventing banking frauds, phishing attacks, hacking incidents, malware and ransomware attacks, digital arrest scams, social media frauds and image-editing crimes.

The event was inaugurated by lighting a ceremonial lamp in the presence of university officials, police representatives and industry experts. Dr Rajeev Tyagi, Pro-Chancellor of Shri Venkateshwara University, said the programme would significantly enhance cyber awareness among young people and help create a safer digital ecosystem. He praised UP Police for taking the lead in organising such a large-scale national initiative.

Sudhir Giri, Founder Chairman of the Venkateshwara Group, congratulated UP Police, Amroha, and the organising team for successfully conducting the workshop on a globally relevant issue. He said cybercrime has emerged as one of the most serious challenges of the digital age and such training programmes are essential to equip society with the knowledge needed to counter online threats.

Workshop Coordinator DSP Anjali Kataria said the programme aimed to create a network of trained “cyber warriors” capable of spreading awareness and assisting in the prevention of cybercrime across the country. She expressed confidence that the participants would use the skills gained during the workshop to contribute to cyber safety initiatives in their respective regions.

The ceremony was attended by university administrators, faculty members, cyber security professionals and representatives from industry and law enforcement agencies. Organisers described the workshop as a major step towards strengthening cyber awareness, digital literacy and cybercrime prevention efforts across India.
