Doctors' Day seminar, TB-free India pledge held at Venkteshwara University

 


Meerut: Venkteshwara University marked Doctors' Day with a national seminar on the theme "Who Heals the Healers", a doctors' felicitation ceremony and a TB-Free India pledge programme on Tuesday.

The event was inaugurated by Pro-Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi, Vice-Chancellor Prof Krishan Kant Dave, Chief Medical Officer Dr Ramakant Sagar, Dean Medical Dr Prabhu M.H. and Additional Medical Superintendent Dr Amit Jain.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Ramakant Sagar said doctors, along with medical students, would work in coordination with the Health and Family Welfare Department to support the TB-Free India campaign. Dr Rajeev Tyagi highlighted the crucial role of doctors in nation-building and said a healthy population is the foundation of a developed India.

Doctors who made notable contributions to healthcare were honoured with shawls and mementoes during the ceremony. Medical students also presented cultural performances, while participants took a pledge to promote humanitarian service and contribute towards making India free from tuberculosis. Several senior doctors and health officials attended the programme.
