Venkateshwara WIMS to Offer Free Treatment, Surgeries Throughout July

Meerut: In a major healthcare initiative aimed at supporting economically weaker patients, Venkateshwara Institute of Medical Sciences (WIMS) has announced that it will provide completely free medical treatment, surgeries, diagnostic tests, medicines, hospitalisation, food and accommodation throughout July 2026. The initiative will be implemented from July 6 to July 31 at the group's multi-speciality hospital on the National Highway Bypass in Meerut.

The announcement was made under the direction of Venkateshwara Group Founder Chairman Sudhir Giri, who said that offering free treatment only on National Doctors' Day is not enough to realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a "Healthy India (Swasth Bharat-Aarogya Bharat)." He urged major hospitals across the country to dedicate at least one month every year to providing free healthcare to underprivileged patients, saying such efforts could prevent deaths caused by the inability to afford medical treatment.

Representing the Founder Chairman, Pro-Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi said the initiative is inspired by the Prime Minister's healthcare mission and reflects the group's commitment to social responsibility. He said patients availing the scheme would receive free admission, diagnostic services, including X-rays, ECGs, ultrasounds and pathological tests, besides all categories of surgeries, medicines and post-operative care, without any charges.

Dr Tyagi added that the Venkateshwara Group intends to continue the month-long free healthcare programme every year, with the objective of ensuring that no patient is deprived of quality medical treatment due to financial constraints.

The announcement was made during a press conference attended by Vice-Chancellor Dr Krishan Kant Dave, Dean Medical Dr Prabhu M.H., Medical Superintendent Dr Shirish Patil, Additional Medical Superintendent Dr Amit Jain, Chief Operating Officer Megha Sabharwal, and other senior doctors and officials of the institution.
