Little Krishnas steal the show as MIET schools celebrate Janmashtami

• Colourful tableaux, Dahi Handi and cultural performances mark celebrations at Jagriti Vihar and Mawana Road campuses

• Students dressed as Radha-Krishna showcase talent while teachers highlight the festival’s lessons on values, harmony and tradition

Meerut: Little Krishna and Radha performers became the centre of attraction as MIET Public School campuses at Jagriti Vihar and Mawana Road celebrated Janmashtami with colourful cultural programmes, traditional activities and devotional fervour.

At the Jagriti Vihar campus, students from Nursery to Class 2 dressed up as Lord Krishna, Radha and Krishna’s childhood companions. A colourful Krishna tableau was prepared on the school premises, while students presented poems, dances and cultural performances.

Teachers also introduced the young students to Krishna’s childhood, life and the significance of Janmashtami. The programme was held under the guidance of Principal Dr Silky Verma, with coordinators Neha Tomar and Priyanka Narayan and the teaching staff contributing to the event.

At the Mawana Road campus, students participated in a series of creative and cultural activities, including Radha-Krishna fancy dress, matki decoration, enactment of Krishna’s childhood episodes, dance, devotional songs and Dahi Handi.

The celebrations were aimed at connecting students with Indian culture and traditions while encouraging values such as love, harmony, truth, duty and moral responsibility.

Principal Dr Silky Verma said such celebrations provide children with an opportunity to understand India’s cultural heritage while learning important moral and social values.

At the Mawana Road campus, Chairman Vishnu Sharan, Vice-Chairman Gaurav Aggarwal, Manager Barkha Aggarwal and Principal Rupali Sehgal extended Janmashtami greetings to students and staff and appreciated their enthusiastic participation.

The celebrations concluded on a joyful and devotional note, with the colourful performances and adorable Krishna-Radha costumes leaving students and teachers with memorable moments.
