Meerut, May 1: MIET Public School, located on Mawana Road, commemorated Labour Day with a special assembly aimed at fostering respect and awareness among students regarding the vital contributions of the working class.
The event was graced by Chairman Vishnu Sharan, Director Ajay Bansal, and Principal Rupali Sehgal, along with the entire school fraternity. The program began with the ceremonial welcome and honouring of school workers through traditional tilak and greetings.
Students delivered thought-provoking speeches on the significance of labour, followed by emotional poetry recitations highlighting the struggles, hard work, and societal role of labourers. A powerful street play performed by students vividly portrayed the everyday challenges faced by the working class and their indispensable contributions.
Chairman Vishnu Sharan, in his address, emphasized that the labour force forms the foundation of society and that their efforts are the real drivers of national progress. Director Ajay Bansal noted that the event was not just a cultural initiative but also a moment of moral education for students, helping them understand the values of dignity of labour, equality, and human respect.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Principal Rupali Sehgal, who expressed gratitude to the teachers, students, and guests for making the event a success. The ceremony ended with the national anthem.
