Promotes Green Initiative, Engages with Customers

Meerut: Punjab National Bank (PNB) Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Ashok Chandra visited Meerut on Tuesday, where he reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to environmental conservation by planting saplings at the Zonal Office premises. Highlighting PNB’s green initiative “Palash”, he said the bank is driving nationwide efforts to increase plantation drives, reduce paper waste, and promote the use of solar lighting and electric vehicles across its branches.

Later in the day, Chandra attended a customer meet at Hotel Harmony Inn on Garh Road. Interacting directly with clients, he sought their feedback on banking services and assured them that PNB places the satisfaction of its 18.5 crore customers as its top priority, continuously working to enhance service quality.

In his address, Chandra noted that PNB is the country’s second-largest nationalised bank, founded by freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai and other eminent leaders as a swadeshi institution. He added that the bank regularly conducts cluster-based outreach camps focused on agriculture, MSMEs, and retail businesses to spread awareness about its products and schemes.

Appreciating Meerut’s industrial and commercial growth, Chandra said the city has emerged as a key hub of business activities. He informed that the bank’s Meerut Zone covers 10 districts of western Uttar Pradesh, operating through 378 branches to serve diverse customer needs.

Zonal Manager Kuldeep Singh Rana, Deputy Zonal Managers Mukul Agarwal and Rajkumar Agarwal, Regional Audit Office Head Arvind Tiwari, Circle Head Sudarshan Rath and several senior officials were present on the occasion.
