Venkateshwara University Marks Constitution Day with National Seminar on “Indian Constitution: Pillar of Unity, Integrity and Social Justice”


Meerut: Shri Venkateshwara University/Institute commemorated Constitution Day (November 26) with a grand one-day National Seminar and Felicitation Ceremony on the theme “Indian Constitution: The Carrier of National Unity, Integrity and Social Justice.” More than a dozen eminent legal experts, social justice advocates and senior academicians from across the country participated in the event.

The programme commenced at the Abdul Kalam Auditorium with the ceremonial lamp-lighting by Chief Guest and renowned social justice activist Ankita Singh, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Rajeev Tyagi, Senior Supreme Court Advocate Vineet Singh, Advocate Hardeep Singh, noted litterateur Dr. Madhu Chaturvedi, Registrar Prof. Piyush Pandey, and other dignitaries.

Students Take Oath to Uphold Fundamental Duties

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Ankita Singh, along with Pro-Chancellor Dr. Rajeev Tyagi, administered an oath to thousands of students to uphold the fundamental duties enshrined in the Constitution.
Singh remarked that India, despite its vast diversity of castes, religions, traditions and languages, stands united under the strength of its Constitution, which guarantees equal rights to every citizen.
“Our Constitution is one of the most powerful and progressive in the world. While we strongly advocate for our fundamental rights, we must exhibit the same commitment towards fulfilling our fundamental duties,” she said.

“The Constitution is the Soul of 140 Crore Indians”

Venkateshwara Group’s Founder Chairperson Sudhir Giri emphasized that rights such as the Right to Equality, Right to Education and Right to Freedom safeguard the dignity of every Indian. “The Constitution is the protector of the fundamental rights of 140 crore citizens and the foundation of India’s unity, integrity and social justice,” he said.

Pro-Chancellor Dr. Rajeev Tyagi highlighted that while the Constitution empowers every individual through fundamental rights, it simultaneously places the responsibility of fulfilling fundamental duties on every citizen for the nation’s progress.

Legal Experts Reaffirm the Constitution as the Pillar of National Unity

Senior Supreme Court Advocate Hardeep Singh, Prof. Piyush Pandey, and Dr. Madhu Chaturvedi also addressed the seminar, asserting that the Indian Constitution remains a guiding force for national unity, democratic values and social harmony. The speakers noted that the Constitution stands among the world’s finest, ensuring justice, liberty and equality for all.

The seminar witnessed the presence of Director Academic Dr. Rajesh Singh, Dr. Neetu Panwar, Dr. Suman Kumari, Dean Law Dr. Rajvardhan Singh, D.P. Singh, Dr. Yogeshwar Sharma, Dr. Darpan Kaushik, Dr. Snehlata, Dr. Ashutosh, Dr. S.K. Srivastava, S.S. Baghel, Arun Goswami, Maruf Chaudhary, Campus Director (Meerut) Dr. Pratap, and Media In-charge Vishwas Rana, among others.

The event was jointly organized by the Venkateshwara School of Law and the School of Humanities & Social Studies and concluded with a collective reaffirmation of the Constitution’s role as the cornerstone of India’s democratic and social fabric.
