TechFest–2025 Showcases Innovation and Talent at Meerut Institute of Technology

Education Adda l Meerut l The Meerut Institute of Technology (MIT), Partapur Bypass, in collaboration with the Meerut Entrepreneur Foundation, successfully organised TechFest–2025, drawing remarkable participation from students across multiple academic streams. The event was inaugurated by Director Dr. K.L.A. Khan, Principal Dr. Himanshu Sharma, Pharmacy Principal Dr. Neeraj Kant Sharma, Dean Academics Dr. Gaurav Sharma, along with Bhavna Jain, Ajay Chaudhary, Dr. Madhuri Gupta and Dr. MIH Ansari, who jointly lit the ceremonial lamp.

More than 500 students from B.Tech, BCA, BBA, B.Sc Agriculture, B.Com, Pharmacy and Management departments took part in the fest, which featured six major technical competitions. The Hackathon drew 108 students from 44 teams, including participants from 12 external colleges. The Technical Quiz registered participation from 80 students across 46 teams, while 75 students from 32 teams showcased their creativity in the Model Presentation category. Poster Presentation saw 66 participants from 32 teams, and 121 students from 45 teams presented their software projects. A total of 51 students pitched innovative ideas in the Idea Pitching segment.

In Idea Pitching, Prince Kumar (B.Tech CSE) secured first position, followed by Sambhav (BCA, 3rd year) and Akash Chaudhary (BCA, 2nd year). The Technical Quiz was topped by Vansh Rathi (BCA, 2nd year), with Aviral (BCA, 3rd year) in second place, while Akash Kumar, Abhigyan Deepak and Ansh Kumar (B.Tech CSE) jointly stood third. The Poster Presentation was won by Tarannum Saifi and Shafqat Parveen (B.Sc Chemistry), with the second and third positions awarded to B.Sc Agriculture teams and multidisciplinary teams respectively.

In the Model Presentation, Shivam Kumar (Mechanical, 3rd year) earned first place for his Spider Robot Model. The Hydroponics Model presented by Tahseem Javed, Taj and Yaman (B.Sc Agriculture) won second place, while the Smart Agri Automatic Toll Gate by Nagendra Kumar and Nitish Kumar (ECE) secured third place. The Hackathon was won by Ankush Raj (B.Tech), followed by the team of Akash Pathak, Kashish Tyagi, Divya, Ansh and Tanu in second place, and the team of Aarav Saini, Shivam and Iqra in third.

Winners across all categories were awarded cash prizes of ₹5,000, ₹3,000 and ₹2,000 respectively, along with trophies and certificates. A total prize amount of ₹35,000 was distributed. The event concluded with an atmosphere of excitement and innovation across the campus, reaffirming MIT’s commitment to nurturing technological advancement and creative excellence among students.
