Meerut: In a major move to strengthen technological collaboration and promote advanced research, Meerut Institute of Technology (MIT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. The MoU was formally signed by Jitendra Singh, Scientist ‘G’ and Centre Head, C-DAC Delhi, and Prof. Dr. K.L.A. Khan, Director, Meerut Institute of Technology.
The collaboration aims to accelerate joint research, innovation, technology development, and capacity building in cutting-edge domains such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), High Performance Computing (HPC), Quantum Computing, Internet of Things (IoT), Internet of Everything (IoE), Cyber Security, Software Technologies, e-Governance, Smart City solutions, and other emerging technologies.
Speaking on the significance of the partnership, Director Prof. Dr. K.L.A. Khan said the MoU would serve as a strong bridge between academia and the industry. He added that both institutions would work together to develop technology-driven solutions, advance research initiatives, and train students in next-generation, high-end technologies. The collaboration, he said, is a crucial step towards strengthening capacity building aligned with future technical demands.
The event saw the presence of key officials from C-DAC, including Apoorva Kohli (Scientist ‘E’), Arvind Kumar (Senior Advisor – National Supercomputing Mission), Devadatta Sasmala (Scientist ‘F’), Dr. Priyanka Jain (Scientist ‘F’), Sunil Kumar (Scientist ‘E’), Anurag Rajput (Scientist ‘D’), Richa Chaudhary, and Dr. Shoyab Ali.
The partnership is expected to open new opportunities for students, researchers, and faculty members by providing exposure to advanced technologies, improving research output, and strengthening innovation-driven ecosystems in the region.
