MIET Organises 36-Hour National Hackathon, Delhi Team Bags First Prize

Young innovators from across India showcase coding excellence and innovation

Meerut: A two-day, 36-hour national hackathon, DevGathering, organised by the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors (MLSA) Club of Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) under the aegis of Atal Community Innovation Centre (ACIC) MIET Meerut Foundation, supported by NITI Aayog, concluded on a high note with enthusiastic participation from young innovators across the country.

The hackathon attracted nearly 1,000 registrations from cities including Muzaffarnagar, Noida, Greater Noida, Mathura, Prayagraj, Agra, Azamgarh, Bijnor, Jabalpur, Faridabad and Delhi. Following a rigorous screening process, 215 participants were shortlisted and invited to the MIET campus, where they worked continuously for 36 hours to develop innovative technology-based solutions to real-world challenges.

The Delhi team emerged as the overall winner and received a cash prize of ₹12,000. A team from Panipat secured the second position and was awarded ₹8,000, while the Greater Noida team finished third, winning a cash prize of ₹5,000.

The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr Vikas Srivastava, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Ankush Gupta. Congratulating the organisers and participants, Chairman Vishnu Sharan, Vice Chairman Gaurav Agrawal, Barkha Agrawal, and Campus Director Dr Sanjay Kumar Singh said such initiatives foster innovation, technical excellence and entrepreneurial thinking among students while encouraging them to develop practical solutions for real-world problems.
