MIET Concludes Five-Day Cyber Security FDP in Collaboration with C-DAC Delhi

Faculty members receive hands-on training in network security, web application security and digital forensics

Meerut: Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) successfully concluded a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on "Cyber Security" at its Centre of Excellence for Cyber Security, organised in technical collaboration with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), New Delhi, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.

The programme was aimed at equipping faculty members with industry-relevant cyber security skills and bridging the gap between academic curricula and the rapidly evolving digital security landscape. Faculty from MIET, Meerut Institute of Technology (MIT), Meerut, and Inderprastha Engineering College (IPEC), Ghaziabad participated in the intensive training programme.

The sessions combined theoretical concepts with extensive hands-on laboratory exercises and were conducted by C-DAC experts, including Project Manager Jaibheem Gaikwad, Scientist-B Deep Narayan Nand, Security Auditor Anuja Shridhar, Project Engineer Usha Rani, and Senior Project Engineer Arun Kumar.

The FDP covered three major technical modules—Network Infrastructure Security, Web Application Security and Testing, and Incident Response, Risk Management and Compliance. Participants received practical exposure to cyber attack detection, network defence, traffic analysis, firewall and wireless security, OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities, secure coding practices, penetration testing, digital forensics, threat detection and regulatory compliance.

Gaurav Agarwal, Vice Chairman, MIET Group, said that as digital infrastructure continues to expand, cyber threats are becoming increasingly sophisticated. He emphasised that strengthening the cyber security capabilities of educators and researchers is essential to building a secure digital ecosystem.

Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Singh, Director, MIET, said the FDP was designed to bridge the gap between industry expectations and academic learning while strengthening research and preparing students for emerging opportunities in the cyber security domain.

Prof. (Dr.) Brijesh Kumar Gupta, Programme Coordinator, said the knowledge and practical skills acquired during the training would enable faculty members to deliver more effective classroom instruction and enhance students' technical competence, employability and industry readiness.

At the valedictory session, Prof. Gupta expressed gratitude to the MIET Management, C-DAC, MIET Administration and all participants for their support in making the five-day Faculty Development Programme a resounding success.
