Grand ‘Kala Sangam’ Cultural Fest Held at Inderprastha Engineering College

Over 200 Students from 30 Schools Showcase Their Talent in Dance, Music and Theatre




Sahibabad: The Inderprastha Engineering College (IPEC), located in Industrial Area Site-4, came alive with colours, rhythm and creativity as it celebrated its Silver Jubilee Year with a grand inter-school cultural festival — ‘Kala Sangam’. Organized in collaboration with All India Radio, Delhi, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 200 students representing 30 schools across Delhi-NCR. The vibrant showcase of talent highlighted the artistic brilliance and youthful spirit of the participants.

The event began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony by Prof. (Dr.) Amit Jain, Dean (Academics), Dr. Meenakshi Sharma, Dean (Student Welfare), Prof. (Dr.) Sunita Yadav, Dean (CSE Allied Branches), along with Shobhana Sharma and Sapna Sharma. The dignitaries extended their best wishes to the participants and emphasized the importance of art and culture in holistic education.


A Celebration of Talent and Creativity

The day-long fest featured 33 competitions across categories such as vocal and instrumental music, solo and group dance, theatre, and mono acting. Each performance reflected not only the participants’ artistic skills but also their confidence, discipline and team spirit. Winners were felicitated with cash prizes, while all participants received mementoes and certificates of appreciation for their efforts.

In the Solo Dance category, Yogit Mehta from Happy English School secured the first prize, followed by Ishita from Vikramala Kathak Sahitya Sanskritik Kala Samiti in second place, and Anisha Gupta from Sun Valley International School in third.
The Group Dance competition saw Minerva Universal Public School bagging the first prize, while DAV Rajinder Nagar and Jan Shakti Shiksha Kendra won the second and third positions respectively.


Melodies and Rhythms Filled the Air

In the Solo Singing event, Priyanshu from Arwachin International School impressed the judges and audience alike, winning the first prize. Kamakshi Joshi from Sun Valley School stood second, and Yashasvi from GJW Sangeet Kala Mandir secured third place.
The Group Singing category was dominated by Happy English School, followed by Bharti Public School and Arwachin International Public School in second and third positions.

The Instrumental Solo competition was equally captivating, with Shreya Pratap Singh from DAV Brij Vihar taking the top spot, Kashvi Kapoor from DAV Rajinder Nagar winning second, and Daksh Prakash Singh from GJLJ Sangeet Kala Academy finishing third. In the Band category, Happy English School once again emerged victorious, followed by Ch. Chaibil Das Public School and DAV Rajinder Nagar.


Promoting Culture Beyond Classrooms

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Amit Jain said that events like Kala Sangam help students go beyond academics and explore their creativity and passion. “Such platforms instill confidence, leadership and teamwork — essential traits for future success,” he added.

Dr. Meenakshi Sharma emphasized that cultural activities are integral to overall personality development. “Education is not confined to books; it must nurture imagination, self-expression and values,” she remarked.

The college administration expressed its intent to continue organizing similar events in the future to encourage young talent and preserve India’s rich cultural heritage. The Silver Jubilee celebrations at IPEC thus became a memorable confluence of art, culture and youthful energy, leaving an indelible mark on everyone present.
