 MIET Meerut Successfully Hosts ESDM Conclave 2025

Industry Experts Share Insights on India’s Semiconductor Mission and Electronics Manufacturing



Meerut: The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at MIET Group of Institutions, Meerut, successfully organized the “Electronic System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) Conclave” on 15th October 2025. The event aimed to strengthen collaboration between academia and industry while providing a platform to explore India’s rapidly growing semiconductor and electronics ecosystem.

The conclave brought together students, faculty, and researchers to gain insights into India’s Semiconductor Mission, chip design, fabrication, human resource development, and emerging opportunities in the ESDM sector. Industry leaders and experts shared their knowledge, offering a comprehensive understanding of trends, challenges, and future prospects in the field.

Industry-Academia Collaboration to Foster Innovation
Prominent industry leaders who graced the event included Mr. Ajesh Kapoor, Head – Government Business and Engagements, L&T Semiconductor Technologies Limited; Mr. Saleem Ahmed, Officiating Head, Electronic Sector Skill Council of India (ESSCI); Mr. M. A. Johar, President – Strategic Business, CP Plus; Ms. Neddhe Mahajan, Head of Human Resources, Continental Device India Ltd. (CDIL); and Mr. Arun Kumar Singh, Director of Business Strategies, PHYTEC Embedded Pvt. Ltd.

The conclave commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony and a welcome address, followed by expert sessions. Speakers elaborated on India’s semiconductor manufacturing landscape, skill development initiatives, and the vision for a self-reliant ESDM sector. They emphasized the role of young engineers in driving India’s electronics manufacturing capabilities and contributing to the country’s “Make in India” initiative.

Director Applauds the Initiative
Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director of MIET, addressed the gathering and lauded the ECE Department for organizing such an impactful, industry-oriented event. He highlighted that initiatives like the ESDM Conclave bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical industry requirements, preparing students for future opportunities.

The event saw active participation from deans, heads of departments, faculty members, and hundreds of students from various streams. Interactive Q&A sessions and networking opportunities allowed students to engage directly with industry experts, gaining valuable career insights.

The conclave concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all dignitaries, faculty members, and participants. The organizers described the event as a milestone in fostering meaningful dialogue between education and industry, offering students a platform to understand real-world challenges and opportunities in India’s electronics manufacturing sector.
