SAP WomenTech Hackathon at MIT: Students Showcase Innovation and Technical Excellence

Meerut — The Meerut Business School of Meerut Institute of Technology (MIT) successfully organized a two-day SAP WomenTech Hackathon, aimed at fostering innovation, creativity, and technological empowerment among women students. The event provided participants with a platform to gain hands-on experience in SAP technologies and apply their learning to real-world problem-solving.

The hackathon featured insightful sessions by Rahul Sachdeva, Director, SAP University Alliances – Indian Subcontinent, and Shubhankar Pattanayak, who shared valuable perspectives on the industrial relevance of SAP, career prospects, and emerging opportunities in the digital landscape. Their guidance inspired participants to think creatively and embrace innovation through technology.

More than 40 students from BBA, B.Com, and MBA programs participated in the hackathon, forming 10 competitive teams. The first day was dedicated to SAP module training, followed by the main hackathon competition on the second day. After multiple rounds of evaluation based on creativity, feasibility, and technical execution, Team Visionary—comprising Vaagisha Bhardwaj, Neha, Anukriti Mishra, and Riya Verma (BBA)—emerged as the winners. The second position was secured by Khushi, Aastha, Pragati, and Divyanshi, while Sia, Sneha, Sarita, and Priyanshi claimed the third spot.

The event was coordinated under the leadership of Dr. Meenakshi Verma, with active support from Gagan Singh and Ishani Sen Jindal. The closing ceremony was graced by Chairman Vishnu Sharan, Vice Chairman Puneet Aggarwal, Director Dr. K.L.A. Khan, Principal Dr. Himanshu Sharma, Dean (Academics) Dr. Gaurav Sharma, Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, Dr. Ankur Goel, Dr. Ravindra Kumar, and Ms. Himani Mishra, who applauded the participants for their innovation and enthusiasm.

The hackathon reflected MIT’s ongoing commitment to women’s empowerment in technology, encouraging young women to develop industry-oriented skills and become future leaders in the digital era.
